Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on February 27, 2026.

Sounding the Nation at 250 (SAM250) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that the humanities thrive when they are open and accessible to the broadest possible public, and we strive to make our website welcoming, usable, and inclusive for everyone.

We aim to follow best practices for web accessibility and to conform, where feasible, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards. In pursuit of this goal, we work to:

  • Provide alternative text for meaningful images

  • Use clear, consistent navigation and page structure

  • Ensure sufficient color contrast for readability

  • Make content accessible via keyboard navigation

  • Offer captions or transcripts for multimedia content whenever possible

  • Archive event materials in formats accessible to educators, students, and the public

Accessibility is an ongoing process. As we continue to add new content—including event recordings, educational materials, and archival resources—we are committed to improving accessibility and addressing barriers that may arise.

If you encounter accessibility barriers on www.sam250.org, or if you need content in an alternative format, we welcome your feedback. Please contact us at societyamericanmusic250@gmail.com.

We will make every reasonable effort to respond promptly and provide the information or support you need.

Thank you for helping us ensure that Sounding the Nation at 250 remains accessible to all.
